Caring for Children and Families

Petén, Guatemala · October 11–17, 2026

Serve alongside a dedicated team bringing essential healthcare to underserved communities in rural Petén. This mission includes visits to schools in two villages, where we will provide deworming medications and vitamins to children, as well as operate a medical clinic for families in need.

We are seeking volunteers with medical and non-medical backgrounds who have a heart for service and a willingness to make a meaningful impact. Your time and skills can help improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations.

Preventing Postpartum Hemorrhage

Petén, Guatemala · March 7–20, 2027

Madre y Niño is seeking compassionate healthcare volunteers for a life-saving medical mission to the Petén region of Guatemala, March 7–20, 2027, focused on training local midwives in practical methods to recognize and treat postpartum hemorrhage—the leading cause of maternal death worldwide.
