Preventing Preeclampsia
August 3-18, 2024

We are in the process of planning our fourth trip in summer 2024. We will teach midwives how to take blood pressure readings and identify signs and symptoms of preeclampsia, which is the second-leading cause of maternal death in Guatemala.

The cost will be $1,200 per volunteer, plus airfare. Volunteers also have the option to travel for only the first or second week, for a cost of $800 plus airfare.

We are seeking 10 volunteers for each week. We anticipate teaching 200 midwives during that two week period. We are also looking for a volunteer willing to cook for the group while we are in the country. Each week, volunteers will have an opportunity to visit the ruins at Tikal.

Please register prior to July 3rd, 2024.
